Family Vacation in Duck, NC

beach week

It's no secret that I ADORE my family. It's also no secret that I LOVE the beach. Put them both together, and I am one happy girl. And since the times are fewer and fewer that we can all be together, I felt truly lucky to have everyone in my favorite place last week. I try to take advantage of this time when I can and this trip was no exception.

We even started off on a good note: a little friendly competition of bowling at my dad's bowling alley, Liberty Lanes. Sean did NOT want to drive to the beach on Sunday, so they played to see who would drive.

I couldn't help it with this one. Can you guess who's legs are whose? Your choices are Stephen, Aaron, Sean or me.

Let's start with the food from the week. I think I ate more last week alone than I have in the past month. There was just so much deliciousness! It was incredible. On the menu included pounds of fantastic pot roast, Reuben sandwiches with homemade sauerkraut, hamburgers, salmon, shrimp and grits, steamed crabs, blackened tuna...I could go on.

But my favorite was sitting on the deck with a cold cider eating crabs. You can't get much better than that.

Sunset Grill is a must in Duck if only for the drinks and the sunset. Every year, my brother and I get a Miami Vice which is a mixture of a Pina Colada and a Strawberry Daquiri in a giant fishbowl. It is DELICIOUS.

And don't worry, we finished the whole thing.

Sunset even has karaoke most nights, which, let me tell you, is so much fun to watch. These boys are ridiculous and shared some of the largest drinks on the menu all night including the Fish Bowl and the Volcano. Bradley even came to visit and have some drinks with us!

And what's the beach with a visit to Wings? The one stop shop of all things touristy! Not to mention this handsome fella. Can you find Jeri?

And the purchase of some new Duck, NC shirts. I am in LOVE with mine.
