Happy Birthday, Joe!

Today is a special day, even if Joe doesn't think so. He doesn't really want anyone to know (oops!), doesn't want to celebrate, and just kind of wants to move past it. But I can't. I LOVE birthdays. I love celebrating the people that I love most and making them happy and feel good. And it's always those birthdays that come during a really hard time in your life and you just really don't feel like celebrating that you need to celebrate the most.

So I'm going to celebrate. I'm going to celebrate Joe's amazing and inspirational life, his incredible outlook and attitude, and a ridiculously, good-looking man. I'm going to celebrate my best friend, partner in crime, soulmate and love of my life. I'm going to celebrate because he deserves to be celebrated for all the selfless things he does for everyone around him and puts those he loves before himself.

If you've ever met Joe, you know the kind of charisma he has and that his spirit is welcoming, fun and warm. He makes friends everywhere he goes and is also unforgettable to those he first meets. He makes me laugh more than anyone else I know and is a total goof.

Without him, Twila & Co. would not be what it is today. I have so much to thank him for. He supports this company emotionally, financially, and sometimes even physically (mostly he's my courier to the USPS). He listens when I rant even if he has no clue what I'm talking about, forgives me if my stress gets taken out on him accidentally, calms me down when my anxiety gets too much for me to handle, and makes me laugh when I don't even want to smile. He lets me work late nights and doesn't complain when I wake up super early and start printing and cutting paper while he's trying to sleep.

If your a boss lady, a mom, or even just involved and passionate about whatever it is that you do, you know it takes a village. These companies we build and careers we grow are never just about one person, but about the support and strength provided and lessons learned on a regular basis.

Joe has been more to me than I could have ever asked for: selfless, funny, caring, warm and he makes me want to be a better person. So yes, I will celebrate him today, and every day, because he deserves to be celebrated.

I love you more and more every day, Joseph, and thank you for being you.
