Weekend Adventures

I didn't grow to love my hometown of Fredericksburg until I left it for 7 years. I was born and raised here, and while it was just fine a place, I never really appreciated it growing up. In fact, in high school I had every intention of moving as far away from here as possible. Well, seven years away from this little town and where am I? I've come back. And I LOVE it.

After living in...well over 7 places in the last 4 years (yeah I've moved a lot, but all in Virginia!), I've come to find that the one constant through all of that is going back home as often as I can.

Even though I grew up here, 7 years is a long time to have been away, especially in your college and post-college years. You change so much in so many ways. And as an (almost) 26 year old, I'm finding that I'm having to relearn my home town all over again.

And let me tell- IT'S A LOT OF FUN. I've been trying new restaurants, new places to go out, things to do, and people to see. It's been wonderful. Not to mention that Fredericksburg is still close to the major Virginia cities, so I don't miss out on those things either.

This past weekend, I went out to Fairview Beach with my family and some friends to watch a friend's band, Causeway Boulevard, play.

We went to Tim's II, which is a restaurant on the rivershore. The played on the deck overlooking the river.

I got some delicious fresh shrimp with some fries (my absolute favorite meal) and tried a few different drinks. My favorite one by far was the Mango Crush.

And we were lucky to enjoy a gorgeous night on the water!
