Ava Laurenne Gala

Happy Monday, friends! I don't know about you, but my weekend was jam packed and I am feeling quite sleepy this morning. This dreary weather certainly isn't helping! I wanted to stay in bed. Well, we've officially moved into our now town house/office! Friday and Saturday were chock full packing boxes (well, throwing whatever I could find into boxes) and moving them to the new place. It was a lot...more than I was expecting, but thanks to Joe, Aaron, Joe's family and 2 movers, we were able to get it all done in just a couple of hours. They all did such an amazing job and I couldn't have done it without them.

After moving all day, that evening we all got to dress up to attend Ava Laurenne's Soiree at the Square. It was a gorgeous black tie gala complete with a delicious dinner, cocktails, fashion show and mingling at Fredericksburg Square. My date was the lovely Jennifer of May June events, and we had a fantastic time catching up and looking at the pretty dresses. You can catch her blog recap here.

The big star of the night was the fabulous Kate Pankoke of Elaya Vaughn, from Project Runway. I was asked to make her a lovely little gift basket, and had fun putting it together last week. Her designs were gorgeous, especially the finale piece which was a gorgeous cream, lace dress with gold detailing. It had a beautiful corset built in that flowed into a full skirt. It fit the model perfectly and was just absolutely stunning. Kate is not only the sweetest person, but has an amazing eye for design.

Besides the amazing fashion show, the gala was a great chance to see so many other creatives and small business owners there from the area. It's always refreshing to take the time to relax and mingle with other small business owners. And even lovelier to see them all dressed up for a fun event such as this!

Ava Laurenne and Fredericksburg Square did an AMAZING job with the set-up and organization of the event. Fredericksburg Square is such a great venue and provided a classy and fun atmosphere. I had such a lovely time and was thankful for the opportunity to be a small part of their big celebration.
