On the 3rd day of Christmas....
On the third day of Christmas, Twila & Co gave to me
Oh dear, this mornings blog is a little bit late! I don't know about you, but the holidays are kicking my but this year! Between getting Christmas presents, filling holiday orders, preparing to travel to California for the holidays, and (to top it all off) we are now moving on January 1st, I just can't seem to get my head on straight. I feel like I'm moving at 100 miles per hour. And even though I probably shouldn't have, Joe and I decided to sleep in this morning because we've been working like crazy and needed a little sleep and relaxation.
As I'm writing this and going over my long to-do list in my head, I keep telling myself it's only a few more days of craziness. And one of the things I am truly looking forward to is a big glass of California wine when we finally arrive in San Francisco next Tuesday. That moment will be amazing because by then I will officially be on vacation (no email, no computers), all of my holiday shopping will be done and I won't have to worry about moving until I return to the east coast in January. Not to mention, that glass of wine is going to be enjoyed and celebrated with some of my favorite people, Joe's amazing family.
The holidays are all about spending time with those that you love, and I need to keep reminding myself that as I rush around trying to get everything done. I've gotten to see and spend time with all the people I love and care about this season, and I am so thankful for where I am in life. While I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little sad I wasn't going to be with my family on Christmas (and to see Lilly rip apart all of the wrapping paper), I am so excited to meet Joe's extended family. Through a crazy year of adventures that was 2014, his family has become my second family. And as Joe and I have grown in our relationship, he has become my home. So I know I won't be too homesick when I'll be around such amazing people whom I love and care about. Not to mention, California is going to be a great place to spend Christmas and New Years.
