Day 1 of the 5 Days of Christmas

We are celebrating Christmas all week at Twila with daily give-a-ways! The first give-a-way is a hand-painted, 8 x 10 watercolor of the Fredericksburg skyline or the state of your choosing. All you have to do is answer the question of the day via blog comment, Facebook, or Instagram to be entered to win.

I LOVE living and working in Fredericksburg. It has given me a wonderful opportunity to work with other small businesses, and I see it's potential continues growing all the time. My favorite area is downtown, especially during Christmas time. All the stores decorate their windows and trees, and everywhere has that magical holiday glow. The historic streets are lined with lights and you can almost always find a horse and carriage riding around the streets.

The holiday season begins in November with a huge Open House. They have food, music, specials, and more. It's probably my favorite weekend to go downtown as I start to get in the Christmas spirit. The best part is seeing the Christmas themed windows for the first time.

This year, I was asked by the Fredericksburg Department of Economics and Tourism to design their Christmas card. I got to work with one of my favorite photographers, Minh of Instant de vie Photography, to photograph the downtown holiday windows. We had such a fun time walking around and looking at all the pretty windows and lights.
