Blog Scheduling & Sharing

Well, I had planned on having this blog posted HOURS ago, but this cute little pup wanted to go for a walk, and I just couldn't say no to that face. So here I am now. Better late than never, right?

It's Wednesday of our Social Media week, which means today we are giving away a Twila & Co. Gift Box! The gift box includes monogram cards, candy, water bottle, a paper straw, stickers & more. Be sure to follow us (and comment too!) on Instagram and Facebook to enter!

Today's topic is about blog scheduling. It's taken me YEARS to finally find a blog schedule that truly works for me and that I actually stick to. Of course, there are still days that I skip and sometimes I take off for a few days to give my brain a break, but overall, I feel like I've finally found a stride when it comes to blogging.

Choose Your Days  |  For me, it's just too much to blog every day. I chose Monday/Wednesday/Friday because that spaces it out and I have the weekends off. Once you commit, be consistent! Your readers will get used to your schedule and look forward to the days that you post.

Make Theme Days/Weeks/Months  |  Once I decided how many days a week I was going to commit to blogging, I decided to give each day a 'theme' to help give me ideas on what to blog when. Mondays I do Last Adventures or personal blogs; Wednesday is all about business; Fridays are about pretty pictures. I also do theme weeks and months, just like this week is 'Social Media Week,' and I am currently scheduling a 'Branding Month.' This helps give me inspiration on what to write about during those times when I get writer's block.

Keep a List of Ideas  |  I keep a notebook...and a list in my phone...and a google doc of ideas for blogs I have. You never know when they could come, and I will forget if I don't write it down. So I try hard to get it on paper or in a list so I have it to pull from later.

Be Flexible  |  Life happens. Don't beat yourself up if you miss a day or the topic is off. Sometimes styled shoots come through and you want to share now instead of later, or sometimes I'll have a personal experience I really want to share. This blog is just about sharing a little bit about who you are and what your business is. It shouldn't be stressful, it should be fun!

Once your blog is posted, share it with the world! Don't be afraid. Post it on all forms of social media that you use (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.), and make sure you use the same images, hashtags, and similar text. No need to reinvent the wheel each time, right? Keep your blog consistent throughout all mediums creating a nice, cohesive brand.
